The RFK can only be calibrated using the RFK calibration tool and diagnostic software in the GT1 or DISplus. No mechanical adjustment is possible. The calibration process uses an optical target that the RFK is aligned with. The optical target must be precisely aligned for proper calibration. The calibration process must be performed on an even surface. Refer to the SI for complete details.

Starting with the N54 engine, it is necessary to both create a positive and negative pressure in order to test the Turbocharger and its system components. The components that can be tested with this tool are: ¿ Air intake check for leaks ¿ Wastegate valve for correct function ¿ Electropneumatic pressure transducer The component tests use Test Module functions in the GT1 and DISplus. A complete examination of the air intake system can only be accomplished using the Turbocharger Diagnostic tool and Diagnosis system. This tool will work on all future Turbocharger systems. Refer to SI for more information.

The 50-amp clamp is used with the GT1, Measurement Interface Box (SI B08 02 04) and the GT1 Trolley (SI B08 01 04) to conduct accurate closed circuit current measurements (SI B61 08 00) on BMW vehicles. The clamp is attached to MIB port ¿SZ50¿ (2) and is stored on the Trolley storage rack (8). The 50-amp clamp connector is a push-pull connector and can be removed or installed during testing.

A tool kit has been developed that will remove the guesswork in the diagnosis of clogged secondary air ages and provide a method to remove the built up carbon deposits which are causing the fault. This tool has already been distributed to all centers via the Automatic Tool Shipment Program. Additional cleaning kits, Part Number 99 00 0 006 668, may be purchased through your PDC. Replacement brushes can be ordered from Parts. The nylon brush is PN 82 11 0 416 754 and the brass brush is PN 82 11 0 416 755. The 4mm reamer is PN 83 30 0 444 759.
